Instructions for XP, Vista y 7 (32/64-bit):

1) Uninstall any previous version of TMPGEnc Authoring Works.

2) Delete the files in the folder:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ username \ Application Data \ Pegasys Inc \ TMPGEncAuthoringWorks4 \ 

This folder is hide, so you have to select in Windows Explorer, Tools menu and click Folder Options, Select the View Tab, Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders and accept.

3) Install TMPGenc Authoring Works v4.0.12.42, Run the application and close ( this step is important ), remember install, open and close.

4) Copy the keygen in install dir, by default:
C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4

5) Open the keygen (run as administrator) :
a) Output: don´t touch this
b) Name: write your name or nick ( is optional )
c) Email: write your email if you want ( is optional ).
d) versión: change to the new version ( 4.0.12.42 )
e) Install dir: select install dir of the application, by default:
C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4

6) Now first click on PATCH and then on GENERATE, the program it´s now registered, close everything and start TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.

7) By the way, select in Windows Explorer, Tools menu and click Folder Options, Select the View Tab, Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Don´t Show hidden files and folders and accept.

** If doesn't work on Windows Vista or 7, try with this instructions:

1) Uninstall any previous version of TMPGEnc Authoring Works.

3) Install TMPGenc Authoring Works v4.0.12.42 ( right click on the installer and run as adm ) when the installation is finished, go to:

C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc

right click on the folder "Pegasys Inc"
Click on Properties / Security / Edit
Click on users (your name)
Tick all the checkbox (allow)
Click on Accept or OK in both windows.

4) Search this 2 files "TMPGEncAuthoring Works4.exe" and "TMPGEncAuthoring Works4Batch.exe" in install. directory, by default:
C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4
right click on both files and click on Properties / Compatibility 
and change the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3 or XP SP2

5) Run the application and close ( this step is important ), remember run TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 and close.

6) Copy the keygen in install dir, by default:
C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4

7) Open the keygen ( right click and run as administrator ) :
a) Output: don´t touch this

Again, if doesn't work in Vista or 7, try with this instructions by chessfarrell:

It took me a while to make it work on Vista 64b despite all the advice given here. Here is what I did (I already had a previous version installed; I followed the instructions given here plus one or two things):

1) Delete the old version (and delete the folder in program files\Pegasys Inc)
2) Delete the folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEncAuthoringWorks4
3) Delete the folder TMPGEnc in My Documents (I’m not sure it’s absolutely necessary, but it didn’t work until I did it)
4) Install the new version
5) Right click on the Pegasys Inc folder, properties, Security, Modify, and grant total control to users, administrators and SYSTEM.
6) In the app folder, set compatibility mode to XP SP2 for the exe files, i.e. TMPGEncAuthoring Works4 and TMPGEncAuthoring Works4Batch [right click, properties, compatibility]
7) Run the app (i.e. TMPGEncAuthoring Works4) once and close it.
8) Restart (weird, I know, but when I ran the crack without restarting, it bugged, as if the app was still running and the crack couldn’t access it)
9) Set keygen compatibility to XP SP2.
10) Run it as admin and change the version to: 4.0.12.42
11) Select the install folder.
12) Click on patch.
13) And then click on generate (even though it's the 1st button).

IF YOU WANT TO INSTALL ON WINDOWS 7 X64 BIT Version, change the Pegasys Inc Folder Location to c:\Program Files (THE X64 one and not THE c:\Program Files(x86))
